Full Professor of Industrial Mechanical Systems
TOMMASO ROSSI is Full Professor of Mechanical Industrial Plants at LIUC – Carlo Cattaneo University and Director of the Executive Program Operational Excellence and Industry 4.0 at LIUC Business School. In 2004, he obtained a Ph.D. in Management Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, completing his studies abroad at Northeastern University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
His areas of expertise include the design and management of logistic-production systems, with a particular focus on simulation, production planning and control processes and tools, and lean manufacturing.
He collaborates with the Fraunhofer Institute in Hamburg and the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence of SUPSI from a research perspective.
Currently, he is further exploring the use of the Industry 4.0 paradigm to increase the productivity of manufacturing processes. Since 2011, he has been the director of the Lean Club, and, since 2016, the scientific coordinator of i-Fab. He has participated in numerous training, research, and consulting initiatives with leading companies, including Aermacchi, Bausch + Lomb, CoeClerici, Duplomatic, Eni, FIAMM, Fonderia Casati, JSW, LTC, Sices Group, Slimpa Kone, Unilever, Vetrotex Saint-Gobain, etc.
